La Pinta, Galapagos based, began cruise operations in the Galapagos Islands in 2008. At full capacity, the ship carries forty passengers. The evaluation staff at Stanford Travel Systems have personnally toured the ship and give it an A+ rating. For elegance and spacious design, few ships in the Galapagos fleet can match La Pinto. Designed for travelers wanting refinement and comfort, all the cabins on this ship are suite size and well insulated for maximum privacy between cabins. Each cabin has a floor to ceiling windows allowing an unsurpassed view of the ocean and the Galapagos Islands beyond from the cabin itself. Below decks, there is a large and elegant dining area, and a very ample meeting and conference area. Above decks on the promenade area, is a large sun deck with outdoor bar and plenty of room for sun bathing or sight-seeing while under sail. This ship is fitted with stabilizers for comfortable cruising. La Pinta is a sleek, powerful yacht thus allowing for less travel time between the islands, more island visiting time, and an expanded itinerary.
The "Young Pirates" program on La Pinta offers a Galapagos cruise experience from a younger perspective for children from ages seven to 12. This program offers special "Children Only" activities and outings, special meals, with lectures and reading materials for young minds. The objective is to give children onboard the ship, a children's program, that offers entertainment and an education regarding the need to preserve and protect the Galapagos Island Archipelago.
Meals onboard La Pinta are relaxed and non-formal. Breakfast and lunch are ample buffets with choices of fresh fruit, juices, salads, cold cuts, sandwiches, and even vegetarian options. Dinners are always informal and give guests a chance to share the activities of the day. To see other Galapagos tours and cruises in the Galapagos Islands, visit the cruise planner. |
